Luciana Paoluzzi grew-up living in Rome with her parents. Luciana Paoluzzi's father is an Italian Army officer, and Maria Rota Paoluzzi's mother is a former mistress of Benito Mussolini. No information is available about having siblings. She attended a local high school. Upon graduation in 1955, she enrolled in navy engineering at the Scientific Academy of Milan - Luciana was the sole female in the class.
