Zoe-perry

Perry was born to actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. The first time she appeared on TV was two episodes in the role of Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne as the character played by her mother. However, her parents didn't want her to take on acting roles until she was an adult and was worried about the impact of stress. Perry acknowledged that she was not comfortable acting in high school however, she began to perform as the way of meeting new students while at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University, moved into New York in search of television roles. The actress was offered small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. In the end, the feeling of homelessness brought her back to California in search of theater jobs. In 2013, she appeared in The Other Place on Broadway together with her mom. The show featured her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry made an appearance in nine episodes of the ABC crime thriller The Family in 2016. In 2017, Perry had a minor role on the ABC political drama Scandal in which her father was the main character. The actress was also featured on her role on the CBS show The Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. Despite her connection to the family of the character, she was offered the role through an audition.
